Privacy Policy
Last updated July 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Edac AI (“Edac,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Edac AI application, website, and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information created as you use the Service, and information from the third parties you choose to connect.
- Account information. When you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and authentication details. We store a corresponding user record and your plan.
- Content you create. Your conversations with Edac, and the items you build across the Skills — meal plans, recipes, grocery lists, workouts, training programs, budgets, expenses, savings goals, bills, tasks, habits, events, study materials, quizzes, flashcards, and similar — are stored so the Service works and stays personalized.
- Memory. To personalize your experience, Edac remembers facts you share within a Skill (for example dietary preferences, fitness goals, or study subjects). This memory is scoped to your account and used only to improve your results.
- Uploads. Files or documents you add to a Skill’s knowledge base (such as a textbook, syllabus, or statement) are stored and used to ground that Skill’s responses.
- Financial connections (Plaid). If you choose to connect a bank account, we use Plaid to retrieve your transactions and basic account information. See “Bank connections” below.
- Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number; Stripe handles payment data and shares limited billing details (such as subscription status) with us.
- Usage and device data. We collect basic technical information (such as log data and general usage) to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and personalize the Service and its Skills.
- To generate AI responses to your requests (see “AI processing”).
- To process payments and manage your subscription or family plan.
- To sync and categorize transactions from a bank you connect.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To communicate with you about the Service, including product and account notices.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your financial data for advertising.
AI processing
To answer your requests, we send the relevant contents of your prompt — and, where helpful, related memory or context — to third-party AI model providers that generate responses on our behalf. We share only what is needed to fulfill your request. We do not sell this content, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Bank connections (Plaid)
Bank connections are powered by Plaid Inc. When you connect an account, you enter your bank credentials directly with Plaid through Plaid’s secure interface — your bank login credentials are never seen by or stored on Edac’s servers. Plaid provides us with an access token and your transaction and account data, which we use to populate your Money workspace (spending, budgets, safe-to-spend, and trends). We store access tokens in encrypted form and can revoke a connection at your request. Plaid’s handling of your information is governed by the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. You can disconnect a bank at any time from the Money workspace, which revokes our access at Plaid.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their function:
- Clerk — authentication and account management.
- Stripe — subscription billing and payments.
- Plaid — bank account connections and transactions.
- AI model providers — generating responses to your requests.
- Hosting and database providers — running and storing the Service.
- Spoonacular — recipe and nutrition data used by the Cooking Skill.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights and users, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete individual items (conversations, saved items, connected banks, and more) within the app, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and encryption at rest for sensitive credentials such as bank access tokens. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, or delete your content from within the app.
- Disconnect a connected bank at any time, revoking our access at Plaid.
- Request a copy or deletion of your account data by contacting us.
- Cancel your subscription at any time through billing.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service.
